As you might have already guessed, I am a planner. I am a researcher. I am a second-guesser. I just have to keep tweaking and adjusting to make things feel right in my head. I dont think its a bad thing, but it can be consuming. I dont spend hours a day or anything, but I do spend a few minutes reading message boards on various Disney fan sites, I do look at my trip itinerary at least once a day and try to see which days can be changed up, and I do daydream about being in Disney World a few times a day!

For instance, the other day I decided to check and see if they still did Segway Tours at Ft. Wilderness. Yes, they do!  If you have never done this, you should! It is super fun! Its an adult activity, you have to be over 16 with a drivers license. These are off-road style Segways and are really easy to ride, and fun! We did this tour back in 2009, so I was super happy to hear they still have it. I made us a reservation for 8:30am on the second to last day of our trip.

Problem with 8:30am is that the Disney transportation wont be running in time to get us there on-time. We will just request an Uber or Lyft driver to take us. Easy peasy. I cant imagine it would cost more than $10 or so. We will eat over there and then take the boat over to Magic Kingdom.

The Segway Tour is 2 hours long. You get about 30 minutes training at the beginning. Then head out into the campground and over to the Wilderness Lodge area. The path also goes along Bay lake, so there are some really pretty spots. One thing I will mention, you keep your feet in one spot for a very long time, and they get sore! Make sure to wear really comfy shoes. You do need close-toed shoes, no sandals or flip flops. You will be balancing yourself on the board using mostly your feet / shins. So by the time you are done, they will be sore. But totally worth it! Its not cheap, but nothing is at Disney. They do give discounts for annual passholders, Disney Vacation Club members and Disney Visa card holders – so ask about the discount!

They run this tour twice a day, Tuesday – Sundays. 8:30am and 11:30am. It takes a while to get to the spot where the tour starts, so plan extra travel time. You have to get to Ft. Wilderness Campground, then wait for and take the internal bus over to the Meadow Depot area. Pretty simple, but does take a few minutes (maybe 20 minutes total from the time you get to the Campground and actually to the Segway Tour area).
